KenyaPoll.online ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This policy outlines how we handle personal data in compliance with the Kenya Data Protection Act (2019) and international standards.
2. Information We Collect (Google OAuth)
When you sign up as a Poll Creator via Google OAuth, we request access to:
- Email Address: Used strictly for account identification and secure OTP delivery.
- Basic Profile (Name): Used to personalize your administrative dashboard.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
3. Voter Privacy (Pseudonymity)
For voters, we utilize Salted SHA-256 Hashing. This means we convert identifiers into a unique "fingerprint" that cannot be reversed. We do not store National ID numbers or phone numbers in plain text. Your vote is confidential and tied only to a pseudonymous hash.
4. Data Retention
Creator data is retained as long as the account is active. Inactive accounts and associated poll metadata are purged after 24 months of inactivity, in line with ODPC guidelines on data minimization.
5. Your Rights (DSAR)
